This program will help business owners, start-ups and scale-ups as well as leaders of more well established businesses. It is essentially operational in focus and considers the broad areas of effectively planning and assigning work, how to measure what is put into and what is the result of that work, as well as such things as hiring/firing and building effective teams. 

The topics we will cover are aimed at supporting leaders in situations where there is a heavy focus on results (sometimes with high and fast growth expectations), where people may be stretched and where the organisational "rule book" is often a work in progress. We will look at balancing short and long term objectives and how leaders have to be broad generalists as well as functional and technical experts. 

The topics listed below are flexible and can be combined or tailored specifically to suit your needs. It is also possible to combine topics from the Management or Executive programs. 

The program will be 10 sessions in duration, with discussions focusing on pre-agreed topics but each session is not so rigid that we cannot change course mid flight to explore other areas that would be beneficial to you.  

  • Sales and Marketing tactics and strategy

    • We will focus on examining and seeking to optimise your current commercial plan to improve lead volume and conversion 

  • Developing Direct Reports

    • This topic examines how you understand your direct reports career goals and undertake development plans and discussions.

  • Managing Through Systems and process management

    • Skills here include designing practices and processes that manage from a distance, rather than hands-on, whilst staying in touch with appropriate detail.​

  • Building Teams

    • How to create team spirit and belonging, share wins and and appropriately approach failures, drives towards high performance.

  • Learning on the fly and agility

    • How to learn quickly when facing new problems​, how to experiment, test and learn and analyse successes and failures and enjoy the challenge of what is unfamiliar. 

  • Problem solving

    • Use rigour to solve difficult problems and look beyond the obvious to arrive at a solution​.

  • Hiring and Firing

    • Examine how to hire slow and fire fast. Assess cultural fit, attitude and functional skills in hiring practices. Discuss how to have a consistent approach to talent spotting. 

  • Managing and Measuring Work

    • Develop the skill to clearly assign responsibility for tasks, decisions and ownership. Look at setting clear measures and monitoring processes. 

  • Work/Life Balance

    • How to maintain appropriate work/life balance and ensure you aim for professional and personal harmony.  ​

  • Organising

    • How to marshal resources and how to use those resources to complete tasks and accomplish productively. 

  • Operational strategy and planning

    • How to "plan your work and work your plan" individually, for your team or for your business​.

  • Time Management and Prioritising

    • This topic examines how to use your time effectively, identify urgent/important tasks and zero in on the critical few​.

  • Motivating others and how to get the best from your team and peers

    • How to create a climate where people want to do their best, how to assess hot buttons, how to empower​.

Email support (brief question and answer approach) is available throughout the duration of the program.

how far apart are sessions: monthly or as agreed

T&C's:  Intro Sessions are for new clients only.  All coaching fees require advance payment in full (see FAQ for refund policies).  Cancellation or reschedule within 24 hrs of the booked session will void the session (session will be counted as taken, & in the case of an Intro Session will also void the session - a re-booked Intro Session will be charged at normal coaching rates.
